Double Decker Auto Repair was born in the heart of Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, with a simple belief: your car should be treated like it’s part of the family, because for most of us, it practically is.

Our story at this very location goes all the way back to 2002, when Mike Decker started working here when it was still Merlin Muffler & Brake. In 2006, Mike and his wife Erin bought the business and kept running it as a Merlin franchise, building a reputation throughout the Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie area for fair prices, straight talk, and the kind of honest, personal service you only get from a true local shop.

Fast-forward to 2026: we’re excited to start a fresh chapter under our new, independent name, Double Decker Auto Repair, while staying 100% locally owned and operated by the Decker family. Our mission hasn’t changed one bit in the past 20 years: to keep Kenosha rolling by delivering high-quality, affordable, and efficient auto repair and maintenance that actually makes our customers’ lives better.

Why “Double Decker”? Because the best service has two layers: expert technical work, and real, down-to-earth care for the people behind the wheel. (Plus, with Mike and Erin Decker at the helm, the name was kind of inevitable!)

Two decades in, we’re still the same neighborhood shop at heart: same honesty, same plain-English explanations (zero upsell nonsense), and the same gratitude for every single customer who trusts us with their vehicle.
